District correspondent : Two persons were killed when a truck ran over a bicycle in Meherpur on Monday.

One of the deceased was identified as Hasan Ali, 21, son of Liton Ali of Chandbil village. The other deceased’s identity could not be known yet.
Abdul Karim, Meherpur Police Additional Superintendent, said that two young men were going to Meherpur riding on a bicycle from Chandbil village. On the way, a cement-laden truck hit the bicycle. The two died on the spot.

On information, two teams of fire service and police rushed to the spot. Police arrested the truck driver Babul from the spot.
Police recovered the bodies and sent those to Meherpur General Hospital morgue.
