Bangladeshi Killed Again in BSF Firing

District Correspondent: Another Bangladeshi was killed in firing by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) in Kaliganj of Lalmonirhat. 2 more people were shot at this time.

The incident took place inside India 100 yards from Pillar No. 913 of Kaliganj Upazila's Burirhat border on Friday (March 29) midnight.

The deceased Muruli Chandra is the son of Sushil Chandra of North Balapara village of Chandrapur Union of Kaliganj Upazila. The injured are Mizanur Rahman son of Azimul Haque and Liton son of Noor Islam of Chandrapur village of the same area.

It is known that the herdsmen entered India to smuggle cows with the help of 4/5 Indian businessmen of the cow smuggling ring. They were returning through Burirhat border with Indian cows. At that time BSF fired a few rounds at them and 3 Bangladeshi shepherds were shot dead.

Later, the injured were rescued and taken to a local hospital. Muruli Chandra died on the way to take them from there to Rangpur. Kaliganj police station recovered the dead body and brought it to the police station.

Confirming the matter, Kaliganj Police Station OC Imtiaz Kabir said that the body of Murali Chandra, who was shot dead in the Burirhat border area, has been recovered and taken into police custody. The incident will be investigated and further action will be taken.

It should be noted that last Thursday (March 28) at around 4 o'clock in the morning, BSF fired at the border of Sonamsjid in Chapainawabganj on the west side of the river Shamshan Ghat inside India. A Bangladeshi youth named Alaul (20) was injured.

Before this, a Bangladeshi youth named Al Amin (33) died in firing by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) at Porsha border in Naogaon last Tuesday (March 26) around 4:30 am.
