Staff reporter : A fire that broke out on the 18-storey AWR Tower in Gulshan-1 of the capital has been brought under control on Saturday.

The fire started at Purnima Restaurant on the ninth floor at around 4:15 pm, said Md Rafi Al Faruk, duty officer of Fire Service and Civil Defence control room.
Being informed, three units of firefighters from Tejgaon Fire Station doused the fire at 4:50 pm, he added.

No casualties were reported in the fire incident, he said, adding that the cause behind the fire could not be known immediately.
