Sun News Desk : At least 11 dengue patients died and 2,596 were hospitalized in the last 24 hours across the country.

The Directorate General of Health Services said this in a press release on Monday.

A total of 2,596 dengue patients were hospitalised in the 24-hour period.

Dengue has so far claimed at least 1,017 lives this year and nearly 2,08,884 were infected, making this the deadliest year since the first recorded epidemic in 2000.

According to DGHS data, 9,283 dengue patients were undergoing treatment at different hospitals across the country yesterday morning.

A total of 1,98,584 patients have so far been released from hospitals across the country this year
