Sun News Desk : A youth stabbed his elder brother to death over land dispute in Cox's Bazar on Friday.

The ill fated brother was Ayub Ali, 30, who got married 15 days back, son of late Bashir Ahmmed and a resident of the aforesaid village.
Meanwhile, the accused is the victim's younger brother Md Yeasin Ali, 25, a veterinary doctor of the area.

Locals said there had been a longstanding dispute the Yeasin and Ayub Ali over a piece of a land. On Friday morning, Ayub was irrigating in a betel nut orchard by a water pump. At that time, Yeasin went there and wanted to take the pump away which led to an altercation between them.
At one stage, the accused fetched a machete from the house and stabbed him indiscriminately, leaving him dead on the spot, they said.

Abu Taher, Ramu Pollice Station officer-in-charge, said being informed, police recovered the body from the spot and sent it to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
