The minister made the remarks while virtually joining an exchange meeting with BRTC officials on Monday (September 20th).

At the same time, the minister said that after the lockdown, the pressure of passengers has increased again, in this situation, considering the convenience of public transport, the bus service has been re-launched in Uttara of the capital from September 18.

He said that after the reopening of the universities, there are plans to re-launch the cyclical bus service in Dhanmondi area.

The Minister for Road Transport and Bridges said that the Sheikh Hasina government has adopted a zero tolerance policy on corruption, so the BRTC must be brought back to the forefront at any cost.

Obaidul Quader said BRTC was a breeding ground for corruption during the last government.

Calling on the Anti-Corruption Commission, the minister said that the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges can also investigate, there will be no obstruction from the government, if there is any corruption, take action.

Taking part in a virtual briefing from his residence on the day, the minister criticized the BNP's various activities on contemporary political issues.

He said that just as the BNP's futile call for the last 13 years has failed, the present effort will also be in vain. The one-sided philosophy of the BNP in thought and practice is weakening the roots of their political existence day by day.

Obaidul Quader said that the government is not allowing Begum Zia to go abroad for fear.

He said that the BNP could not hold a procession for the release of the leader, they did not accept Mayakanna.

Noting that the Sheikh Hasina government is not afraid of Begum Zia or the decaying BNP but has suspended the sentence for the fourth time considering her age and health, Obaidul Quader said that only Sheikh Hasina has shown this generosity.
