Railways will give free masks to passengers

Staff Reporter: Railway Authorities said. as an extra precaution, passengers will be given free mask and will be hand sanitized when enter the station.

Kamalapur Railway Station Manager Rafiqul Islam made the remarks on Monday (August 9th). The government has decided to relax the lockdown by imposing certain conditions considering the socio-economic condition of the country, The train will run with keeping the economy afloat and the overall situation.

As the lockdown has eased, 43 intercity and 20 mail and commuter trains will run from next Wednesday and it has also started selling advance tickets for the railways.

On Monday (August 9) morning, Kamalapur railway station was seen waiting for tickets. They are collecting train tickets from certain counters. Shahadat, a passenger from Rajshahi who came to collect tickets, said he has been standing in line since morning. He hopes to get his desired ticket even if it is late.

Kamalapur railway station manager Rafiqul Islam told Sun News that online ticket sales have started since morning. I have all kinds of preparations. The train will run according to the hygiene rules. This time we will sell 50 percent online and 50 percent at the ticket counter.

"Since the government has allowed trains to run with 100 per cent passengers, we will give free max to passengers as an extra precaution," he added. All passengers will be hand sanitized and admitted to the station. All trains will be cleaned with disinfectant.

Yesterday, the government issued a circular relaxing the ongoing restrictions conditionally. Restrictions on corona infection have been in place since April 5 this year. After the last Eid, strict restrictions started from July 23 to August 5.
