Sun News Desk : Two persons were killed after a "gunfight" between Armed Police Battalion (APBn) and the Myanmar insurgent group the Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA) at a Rohingya refugee camp at Ukhiya in Cox's Bazar today.

The deceased are- Noor Haba, 50, wife of Nurul Islam of L/17 Block of Camp 18 and Mohammad Hashem, 32, son of Bashir Ahmed of the same camp. Hashim was in charge of ARSA's military wing.
APBn said acting on a tip-off, they conducted a raid into the hilly area of L/17 Block of Camp 18 early Friday afternoon. At that time, Rohingya refugee woman Noor Haba was killed during a "gunfight" with ARSA terrorists. Later, ARSA's military wing's leader Mohammad Hashim's body was found lying during a search in the place of occurrence.

Faruque Ahmed, 8 APBn's assistant director ASP, said ARSA member Sadeque was arrested along with arms and ammunition from the place of occurrence. Two APBn members were also injured during the firing. The dead bodies were recovered and sent to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital for postmortem.
