20 shops gutted in fire

Sun News Desk : At least 20 shops were burnt after a fire broke out at Nawabpur Mohammadia Market last night.

Shahjahan Shikder, deputy assistant director of Fire Service and Civil Defence's media wing, said the fire started at 10:10pm yesterday. Fourteen fire engines doused the blaze at 1:58am today.

He also said the reason behind the fire is under investigation. No casualties were reported. 20 tin-shed shops and warehouses were burnt in the fire.
