Two city elections begin

Sun News Desk : The elections to Khulna and Barishal City Corporations has started today's morning.

The voters began casting their respective votes from 8am.

In Khulna City Corporation polls, some 535,522 voters, including 268,828 male and 2,66,698 female, are expected to cast their votes.

A total of 2,320 CCTV cameras have been installed both inside and outside 1,732 polling booths.

Awami League-backed candidate Talukder Abdul Khaleque gave his vote at Pioneer Secondary Girls School centre on the city’s South Central Road around 9:10am. After voting, the mayoral candidate said the election is being held in a free, fair manner.

He said i will accept whatever result coming from the voters.

Meanwhile, a total of 2,76,298 voters,1,37,489 male and 1,38, 809 female, are expected to exercise their franchise in the Barishal City Corporations polls.

A large number of law enforcers have been deployed to ensure tight security measures at each polling station so that voters can cast their votes.
