The BGB To Get Two Helicopters To Increase Surveillance And Capacity

Staff Reporter: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) is getting two helicopters to increase the capability of strict surveillance in the border hills and to stop the infiltration of drugs.

On Sunday (November 8), Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the two helicopters purchased for the BGB Air Wing via video conference from Ganobhaban.

According to BGB sources, the inauguration ceremony of two helicopters purchased from Russia for the BGB air wing has been organized at 10:30 am on Sunday at Bir Anwar Hossain Parade Ground in Pilkhana.

A documentary titled 'BGB in achieving three-dimensional capability' will be screened at 10:35 am. The BGB Director General will unveil the book 'Father's Face in the Centenary' and hand over the souvenir to the Prime Minister. At 10:48 a.m., Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will deliver a concluding address to the BGB and announce the inauguration of the helicopter.

It may be mentioned that in addition to the regular prevention measures of the BGB, five new BOPs have been constructed recently as per the instructions of the government to stop all kinds of drug infiltration at the border. 317 km of border roads are being constructed by the Army in the Chittagong Hill Tracts including Teknaf and activities are underway to set up surveillance systems under smart border management on sensitive and risky borders.
