Staff Representative, Sylhet: We are always ready to protect the independence and sovereignty of the country. Chief of Army Staff General Aziz Ahmed said that the army has played a very important role in combating the epidemic coronavirus.

He was speaking as the chief guest at the flag hoisting ceremony of the new 4 units at Sylhet Cantonment of the 17th Infantry Division on Thursday (November 5) morning.

The army chief said, “The army is always ready for the needs of the country. In addition to protecting sovereignty, the force is making significant contributions to socio-economic and infrastructure development, including dealing with natural and man-made disasters. ”

“Now we are preparing for winter training. However, all the training will be in accordance with the hygiene rules. ” He called upon all members and employees of the army to be aware of this. He also called on the army to be ready to accept the highest sacrifices to protect the country's integrity.

He hoisted the flags of 50 Field Regiment Artillery, 75 Field Ambulance, 2 Para Commando Battalion and Ordnance Depot Sylhet in Sylhet Region of 17 Infantry Division of the Army. Major Muhammad Jubayer Salehin, GOC and Area Commander of 17th Infantry Division was also present.
