India extended Ban on international passenger flights till March 31

International Desk: The Indian government has again extended the ban on international flights. All types of passenger flights will be suspended in the country till March 31. However, the ban will not apply to cargo flights and specially operated international flights.

The country's Civil Aviation Authority (DGCA) made the announcement on Friday (February 26th), NDTV reported. According to the DGCA, India imposed the ban on international flights on March 23 to check the transmission of the coronavirus during the second wave of the epidemic.

However, as corona infections began to decline, the central government relaxed the restrictions in most of the sectors of the country's economy. Last year, domestic flights were normalized, but international flights were banned.

Earlier, the Indian government extended the ban in several other sectors. Authorities announced on Friday that they would extend the ban. The DGCA said in a statement that the competent authority had extended the ban on international passenger flights until March 31.

However, in the case of cargo aircraft and aircraft specifically approved by the competent authorities, the ban will remain relaxed. It further said that in some cases, International Scheduled flights will be operated on certain routes with the approval of the competent authorities.
