International Desk: Six members of Mexico's military were killed when the plane crashed in the southeastern state of Veracruzin a plane. They were traveling by plane. The Defense Secretariat said on Sunday (February 21). News from AFP.

A statement from the secretariat said the Air Force Layer Jet 45 crashed in the morning, at about 1545 GMT, after taking off from Emiliano Japata in the Mexican state of Varacruz.

The statement said that the commission of inquiry of the secretariat will join the expert team of the army and air force to find out the possible cause of the accident. No details were given about the identities of the military members or why they were traveling on the plane. The statement also did not say how many people were on board the plane.

"We are deeply saddened by the loss of these army comrades," the secretariat said.
