Sun News Desk : A court in Natore sentenced six people to death and four others to life imprisonment in a case filed over the gang rape of a college girl after abduction.

Judge Muhammad Abdur Rahim of Natore Women Children Repression Prevention Tribunal passed the order on Wednesday.
The court fined each of them Tk 100,000 and also acquitted another in the case. Special Public Prosecutor of the court Advocate Anisur Rahman confirmed the matter.

The death-row convicts are- Md Sabbir Ahmmed, Md Rezaunul Rabbi, Md Nazmul Haque, Md Rajibul Hasan, Md Ripon and Md Shahidul.
The convicts, who got life sentence, are Md Monirul Islam, Md Khairul Islam, Md Ataul Islam Ataur and Md Rezaul Karim.

According to the FIR filed in the case, Sabbir Ahmed tactfully took his girlfriend, who was a first student of Rajshahi Government College, to Mirzapur village at Singra upazila in Natore on October 19, 2012. He along with his associates raped her in a crop field overnight and fled the spot. Later, local people rescued the victim and dropped to her home.
On October 20, the victim’s father filed a case against them with Singra Police Station in Natore.
