Sun News Desk : Three labourers were killed after being electrocuted in a building while working in Gazipur's Sreepur on Thursday.

The deceased were identified as Pias, 20, son of Amjad Hossain; Pavel, 23, son of Belal Saudagar; and Monwar Hossain, 25, son of Mukul Hossain.

Several others were also injured in the incident that took place around 9:30am at the under-construction factory of Armada Spinning Mills Limited group.

Locals said that the workers were working at the building at Kewa village under Sreepur municipality this morning. They were electrocuted after came in touch with live electric wire while lifting some iron rods as accidentally, an adjacent electric wire touched a rod of the building.

A fire was also broke out during the incident. The workers then fell off the building and three died on the spot.

Abdullah Al Arefin, Sreepur Fire Service and Civil Defence's assistant deputy director, said being informed, two units rushed to the spot and started rescue operation. They recovered three burnt bodies.
