Sun News Desk: The presidential election schedule is likely to be announced on Wednesday. Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal stated this following a scheduled meeting with Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury on Tuesday (January 24, 2023).

Earlier at 2:00pm, the CEC went Jatiya Sangsad to meet the Speaker.
Following the meeting, the CEC said it was decided to announce the election schedule. So, the EC convened a meeting at 11:00am on Wednesday.

Kazi Habibul Awal said the by-elections in six vacant parliamentary constituencies would not an obstacle to hold the presidential polls.
