Election by June 30, 2026

Staff reporter : Next national election will be held by July 30, 2026, said Shafiqul Alam, press secretary to Chief Adviser.

He said while addressing a press conference held at the Foreign Service Academy on the contemporary issues on Tuesday.

Earlier in the day, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AKM Nasir Uddin said preparations were going on for the next general election.

Talking to journalists at the Nirbachan Commission Bhaban at Agargaon in the capital, he said the Election Commission (EC) is ready to hold the election at any time if the government wants so. "The Chief Adviser has announced a time-limit. We will proceed keeping it in mind. However, we have a workplan to organize the election," he said.

The press secretary said none of those who had ordered or committed killings would not be spared. The government is determined to try the culprits bringing them under the purview of law.
