Sun News Desk: The International Crimes Tribunal on Monday sentenced 6 people to death for committing crimes against humanity at Trishal upazila of Mymensingh during the Liberation War in 1971.

The six convicts are- Md Mokhlesur Rahman Mukul, Md Saidul Rahman Ratan, Shamsul Haque Fakir, Nurul Haque Fakir, Md Sultan Mahmud Fakir and Nakib Hossain Adil Sarker. All of them are fugitive.
The three-member International Crimes Tribunal headed by Justice Md Shahinur Islam announced the verdict on Monday.

A total of six charges were framed against the six people, including murder and rape.
An investigation against the death row convicts started on January 26, 2017. The probe report was submitted on December 31, 2017. A charge sheet was filed on July 12, 2018, and the trial started on December 2 of the same year.

The testimony of the case began on February 18, 2019, and ended on January 5, 2020.
