Restrictions on movement of vehicles for Dhaka-18 by-election

Staff Correspondent: Dhaka-18 constituency by-election will be held on Thursday (November 12). The Election Commission (EC) has imposed restrictions on the movement of vehicles in the constituency surrounding the upcoming by-elections. On Tuesday (November 10), the EC issued a notification regarding restrictions on the movement of vehicles.

It said trucks and pickup vans were banned from operating in the constituency from midnight on Wednesday (November 11) to midnight on Thursday (November 12), the day before the polling day.

However, there will be a ban on motorcycles in the constituency from 12 midnight on Tuesday (November 10) to 12 midnight on Friday (November 13). However, in the case of specific exceptions, the designated vehicles will be exempt from this prohibition.

Apart from the by-election of Dhaka-18 constituency, the same directive will also be applicable for the by-election of Sirajganj-1 constituency.
Voting for the by-elections will be held on November 12 in Dhaka-18 constituency comprising Uttara, Turag, Bimanbandar, Uttar Khan, Dakshin Khan and Khilkhet police stations. The position became vacant on July 9 when former MP Saharan Khatun died.
