Qasim Soleimani: Trump under arrest warrant threat !

International Desk: Iran has requested Interpol to issue an arrest warrant against outgoing US President Donald Trump and 48 officials for killing General Qasim Soleimani, head of the Quds Force of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) .

At a news conference on Tuesday (January 5th), Iranian judiciary spokesman Golam Hossen Ismaili said they had written to Interpol to arrest 48 US officials, including Trump, involved in Soleimani's assassination.

Ismaili said that the Islamic Republic of Iran is committed to punishing the perpetrators and perpetrators of this crime.

General Qasim Soleimani, head of the Quds Force of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), was killed in a US drone strike in Baghdad on January 3, 2020. Trump himself ordered the assassination.

Agnes Calamard, the UN special envoy for extrajudicial killings, said the killing of Soleimani was also against international law.

Iran had earlier requested Interpol to arrest Trump on charges of killing General Soleimani. Last June, Tehran issued arrest warrants for dozens of U.S. officials, including Tampa, on murder and terrorism charges.

However, the French-based police rejected Iran's request. Interpol says its rules prohibit interference in any political, military, religious or racial issue.

The US-Iran relationship has recently warmed up again on the anniversary of the Soleimani assassination. As Trump's term draws to a close, the Iranian authorities are unwilling to make the slightest concession in retaliation. Meanwhile, the United States is also increasing pressure on Iran.

The United States has flown several B-52 bombers over the Gulf in the past month. Washington on Monday postponed a decision to remove an aircraft carrier from the area.
