Progress due to the Work Ethic of the Youth

Sunnews Desk: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said that the work ethic of our youth has kept the economic progress moving even during the Corona epidemic. She said this in a message given on Sunday (October 31) on the occasion of 'National Youth Day-2021' on Monday (November 1). The Prime Minister extended best wishes and congratulations to the youth of Bangladesh on the occasion of National Youth Day.

The Prime Minister said, "I believe that by overcoming all adversities, our youth will play a leading role in establishing a hunger-free, prosperous, and self-respecting country which is the dream of the father of the nation by creating a partnership in the implementation of our government's vision-2041."

Sheikh Hasina said this year's theme of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's birth centenary which is 'Skilled Youth Prosperous Country, Bangabandhu's Bangladesh' has become very appropriate as a deep homage to the golden jubilee of independence,

Sheikh Hasina said Father of the Nation Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was an icon of the youth. He was able to realize that the youth is the main controller of the vitality, development, and progress of the nation. Not only that, they are brave, fast, promising, promising and creative. With the undisputed leadership of the Father of the Nation, with the spontaneous participation of the youth of East Bengal, victory has been possible in every field from the language movement of '52 to the great liberation war of 1971.

Mentioning that after independence, Bangabandhu focused on creating educated and efficient youth, the Prime Minister said, because he believed that enlightened youth would accelerate the overall development of the country. In addition to inspiring the youth to take up education, the Father of the Nation approved the proposal to establish 'Bangabandhu Kridasebi Kalyan Foundation' for sports enthusiasts on 8 August 1975.

Sheikh Hasina said, "Our misfortune is that after the brutal assassination of the father of the nation and his family on August 15, 1975, some ambitious military officials illegally took over the responsibility of running the country." They mislead and confuse the youth. Instead of educational materials, they were given weapons, drugs and black money. As a result, the country's academies became a haven of terror. But the youth inspired by the ideals of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman toppled the dictatorial government in return for their supreme sacrifices and played a vital role in overcoming various national crises including protection of the people's right to vote and food.

The Prime Minister said, "We have taken and implemented various programs across the country in the period 1996-2001 to involve the youth in the mainstream of development." Since the subsequent election victory in 2008, we have used various technologies, including information technology, to turn the youth into skilled human resources. Providing vocational and agricultural multi-faceted training. We are arranging their self-employment with youth loans. In the last thirteen years, the employment of the youth in the diaspora as skilled manpower has been expanding. So far we have imparted training to 64 lakh 61 thousand 238 youths in 84 trades in 64 district offices and youth training centers and 500 Upazilas. Out of 9 lakh 91 thousand 691 youths, we have distributed loans of 2 thousand 1 hundred 11 crores 42 lakh 82 thousand Taka. Among the trained youths, 22 lakh 80 thousand 153 have become self-reliant through self-employment. Through the National Service Program adopted by our government, 2 lakh 29 thousand 7 hundred and 37 educated unemployed youth have already got employment.
