Ramnath Kobind is on a three-day state visit at the invitation of President Abdul Hamid. This is his first visit to Bangladesh as President.
Today, Ramnath Kobind will pay homage to the martyrs of the great liberation war at the National Memorial in Savar. Later in the day, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman will visit the Memorial Museum at Dhanmondi No. 32 and pay homage to his memory.
In the afternoon, courtesy call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Foreign Minister. Later he will pay a courtesy call on the President of Bangladesh at Bangabhaban. The President of India will present a T-55 tank used in the War of Liberation and a MiG-29 fighter jet to the President for preservation and display at the Bangladesh National Museum.
The President of India will take part as the 'Guest of Honor' in the celebration of the golden jubilee of the Victory Day of Bangladesh on December 16 at the National Parade Ground. In the afternoon, he will be seen in the historic moment of Vijay's Golden Jubilee at the South Plaza of Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban in the program 'Mahabijayer Mahanayak'. On the third day of the visit (December 17), the President of India will inaugurate the renovated section of Kali Mandir in Ramna, Dhaka and visit the temple. He expressed interest in exchanging views with the members of the temple committee. He will leave Dhaka on Saturday afternoon to return to Delhi after a state visit.
