The President of India is Coming to Dhaka on Wednesday

Staff Correspondent: Indian President Ramnath Kobind is arriving in Dhaka on Wednesday (December 15) for a three-day state visit at the invitation of Abdul Hamid. This is his first visit to Bangladesh as President.

Foreign Minister said this at a press conference on Tuesday (December 14) Dr. AK Abdul Momen.

The Foreign Minister said, “The President of India will visit Bangladesh from 15 December to 16 December to mark the golden jubilee of Bangladesh Victory Day, the closing day of Mujib Year and the 50th anniversary of Bangladesh-India friendship. Senior officials including the First Lady of India, daughter of the President, Minister of State for Education of India, two Members of Parliament and Foreign Secretary of India Harsh Vardhan Sringla are accompanying the delegation.

He will pay a three-day state visit to mark the golden jubilee of Bangladesh's Victory Day, the closing day of Mujib's year and the 50th anniversary of Bangladesh-India friendly relations.

He will be accompanied by his wife and daughter, State Minister for Education of India, two Members of Parliament, Foreign Secretary and other high-ranking officials of various departments.

Regarding the visit of the President of India, the Foreign Minister said, "Whenever Bangladesh and India meet, we discuss all kinds of issues. Although the President of India is coming to Dhaka on a special occasion, we will still discuss our issues with him.

Foreign Secretary Masood bin Momen said, "There is no agreement or memorandum of understanding during this visit. But whenever we have an opportunity to talk to India, we discuss issues with each other and that will happen again.

Indian President's visit to Dhaka:

1. The President of Bangladesh will receive the President of India at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on 15 December. Providing guard of honor at the airport.

2. Ramnath Kobind will pay homage to the martyrs of the great liberation war at the National Memorial in Savar.

3. Later in the day, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman will visit the Memorial Museum at Dhanmondi No. 32 and pay homage to his memory.

4. In the afternoon, courtesy call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Foreign Minister. Later, he will pay a courtesy call on the President of Bangladesh at Bangabhaban.

5. The President of India will present a T-55 tank used in the War of Liberation and a MiG-29 fighter jet to the President for preservation and display at the Bangladesh National Museum.

6. On the second day of the visit, the President of India will take part in the celebration of the golden jubilee of the Victory Day of Bangladesh as the 'Guest of Honor' at the National Parade Ground on 1 December.

7. Later in the afternoon, he will participate in the 'Great Hero of Great Victory' program at the historic moment of Vijay's Golden Jubilee at South Plaza of Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban. The President, Prime Minister, Speaker and other dignitaries of Bangladesh will be present on the occasion.

8. On the third day of the visit, on 17 December, the President of India will inaugurate the newly renovated section of the Kali Mandir in Ramna, Dhaka and visit the temple. The temple has expressed interest in a brief exchange of views with the members of the relevant committee. Ramnath Kobind will leave Dhaka for Delhi at noon after the state tour on the same day.
