Sun News Desk : One dengue patient died and 46 others hospitalized in the last 24 hours across the country.

The Directorate General of Health Services said this in a press release on Friday.

With the latest death, a total of 40 people died of dengue to date this year.

Currently, 1,382 people diagnosed with the mosquito-borne disease are taking treatment at different government and private hospitals in and outside the capital of Dhaka.

Of them, 1,073 are being treated at the facilities in the capital while 309 are in other divisions.

As many as 6,339 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country since January 1 this year.
