Staff Correspondent: Nepal's President.Vidya Devi Bhandari paid tribute to martyrs of the Liberation War of Bangladesh by placing wreaths at National Memorial in Savar.

She visited the National Memorial in Savar around 11am on Monday (March 22). After paying her respects there, she signed the visitor's book and planted a sapling.

Earlier, Nepal's President Vidya Devi Bhandari arrived in Bangladesh on a two-day state visit at around 10 am. She came to Dhaka at the invitation of President. Abdul Hamid to attend the birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the golden jubilee of Bangladesh's independence.

President Abdul Hamid received the President of Nepal at the airport and the red red carpet was rolled out. The guard of honor was given to the President of Nepal at the airport after 21 rounds of artillery fire.

This is the first visit of a president of Nepal to Bangladesh. Vidya Devi Bhandari will stay in Dhaka for two days on March 22 and 23.
