Imran Khan Got Bail

International Desk: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Pakistan's Islamabad granted bail to former Prime Minister Imran Khan in a total of 14 cases.

Islamabad ATC judge Malik Ijaz Asif gave this verdict after a hearing on Saturday (February 10).

Along with Imran Khan, senior leader of his political party Pakistan Tehreek-e Insaaf (PTI) Shah Mehmood Qureshi has also been granted bail in 13 cases.:

The bailable cases are related to the May 9 riots. Imran Khan was arrested in the court premises on May 9 while appearing in the Islamabad High Court. Then the leaders-activists-supporters of his party Pakistan Tehreek-e Insaf erupted in an unprecedented protest. For the first time in Pakistan's history, service cantonments and various military installations were attacked.

Of the 14 cases in which Imran has been granted bail, 12 are related to incitement to riots on May 9; Out of the remaining 2, one is related to the attack on Pakistan Army General Headquarters (GHQ) and the other on the military museum. And in the 13 cases in which Shah Muhammad Qureshi got bail, all of them are related to incitement to riots.

The election of the Parliament National Assembly of Pakistan was held on February 8, Thursday. The total number of seats in the assembly is 266. All but one of these constituencies went to polls on Thursday.

According to news agency Reuters, the results of 245 constituencies were known till Friday (February 9) night. It was seen there that Imran Khan's Pakistan Tehreek-e Insaf (PTI) won 98 seats, Nawaz Sharif-led Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) won 69 seats and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari-led Pakistan People's Party (PPP) won 51 seats.
