He said that it would not be right to see the sheltering of BGP members by the regular forces of the Myanmar government and sheltering the Rohingyas together. Safe and speedy repatriation of dependent BGP members is the prime consideration. Air or sea route is neither important nor a prerequisite. Bangladesh made such a proposal considering the fact that they could be repatriated as soon as possible.

Seheli said, a few days ago, Myanmar brought troops from India by air. That is why Bangladesh has offered to take back the troops by air. Bangladesh wants their repatriation as soon as possible. There is no opportunity to waste time here. Hopefully, they will be sent back quickly, either by air or air. The most important thing is to send them back safely.

He said, the question of having any international or political reason in providing shelter to Myanmar's border guards is unanswerable. Recently, BGP members of Myanmar took refuge in India as well. They have returned to their country from India.

Spokesperson said, as endangered members of a regular force, they have taken temporary shelter in Bangladesh and the Myanmar government has expressed its desire to take them back from the first day.

When asked about the progress of negotiations with Nay Pyi Taw to take back the fleeing Myanmar soldiers, he said that the Myanmar government has already expressed interest in taking back their soldiers and BGP members. Discussions are on for their safe repatriation. In this regard, the Ambassador of Bangladesh in Myanmar held a meeting with the Foreign Minister of Myanmar yesterday afternoon. It is expected that they will be sent back to Myanmar as soon as possible.

When asked what kind of diplomatic activities are being carried out to overcome the difficult geopolitical equation that Bangladesh has fallen into in the ongoing war in Myanmar, he further said that it is an internal conflict in Myanmar. However, contact with Myanmar has been continued with a watchful eye so that the people, resources or sovereignty of Bangladesh are not threatened in any way. Bilateral, tripartite, regional and multilateral efforts to initiate voluntary sustainable repatriation of Rohingyas at an opportune time also continue; Bangladesh is cautious about this. In addition, the Permanent Mission of New York maintains constant communication with the United Nations Security Council.
