Own Correspondent: The country's fire services are capable of extinguishing fires up to 20 floors. Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has said that the facility will be upgraded to 22 floors soon.

The inauguration ceremony of 20 newly constructed fire stations in eight sections started at 11 am on Sunday (December 27). Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is the virtual chief guest at the event. Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal is present as the special guest. The fire services are going to be inaugurated in a while.

Incidentally, 20 newly constructed fire stations in eight sections are being inaugurated as part of the installation of 129 new fire stations by 2021. 20 fire stations will be inaugurated in eight sections. Two fire stations will be inaugurated in Pabna, one in Manikganj, two in Bogra and one in Chittagong. Besides, fire stations will be inaugurated in different upazilas of Shariatpur, Gopalganj, Sylhet and Moulvibazar.

Earlier, during the inauguration of Fire Service and Civil Defense Week 2020 in November, the Home Minister said that there are 436 fire stations across the country. By 2021, 129 new fire stations will be set up. If these are installed, the number of fire stations will be 565.

There are also plans to set up 11 more modern model fire stations. Work is underway to set up Bangabandhu Fire Academy for better training of fire service personnel. If this is introduced, it will be possible to give advanced training to our workers in the country.
