Staff Correspondent: Dhaka-18 and Sirajganj-1 constituency by-election Election Commission (EC) Secretary. Alamgir said, 'Voting in Dhaka and Sirajganj has been fair and acceptable. Didn't get any bad news anywhere. I have not seen in the media that there have been riots in the polling stations, there have been fights or the polling stations have had to be closed, I have not seen any such incident. The BNP's complaint is general.

The EC secretary said this at his office at the election building in Agargaon in the capital on Thursday (November 12) evening.

He said, 'What they told me from Sirajganj around 4 pm, they think 45 to 50 percent of the vote. They think that about 35 percent of the votes have been cast in Dhaka.

Earlier, a four-member BNP delegation led by BNP joint secretary general Mahbub Uddin Khokon met the EC at around 4:30 pm.

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda on behalf of the EC, Commissioner. Rafiqul Islam, Commissioner Brigadier General (Retd.) Shahadat Hossain Chowdhury, Kabita Khanam and EC Secretary. Alamgir took part.

During the meeting, the BNP made various allegations and demanded that the election be canceled and a new election be called.

Regarding the allegation of the BNP representative, the secretary said, 'It is a general allegation of theirs. They always say that their agents are not allowed to enter the center, they go home and scare them, they take them away when they go out. However, they could not make specific allegations.

The EC also said that action would be taken if evidence was found. In this regard, the secretary said, 'The commission has asked the BNP to give evidence, if it is like canceling, then we will cancel the vote. But if you can't prove it, there is no chance to cancel. According to the information we have, such incidents have not come to us.
