Dengue patients are increasing

The number of dengue cases have suddenly started to increase in the capital after the season. In the last one week alone, more than 50 patients have got admitted into the hospitals. Meanwhile, two city corporations have confirmed that Aedes is being destroyed with full swing. They said that the use of sophisticated tablets will greatly reduce mosquito infestation. Experts say that if the issue of dengue is ignored, it can be fatal.

Usually, the outbreak of dengue is more prevalent from June to September; but the number of dengue cases are suddenly increasing at an alarming rate at the end of October this year.

According to the Department of Health, 52 dengue patients got admitted to the hospital last week. Among them, 46 have been admitted to various government and private hospitals in the capital and six outside of Dhaka. The number of dengue patients admitted to the hospital this month stands at 121.

The city corporation says that mosquito eradication activities are in full swing during Corona. The use of sophisticated drugs has been added to the destruction of Aedes larvae. A new fourth-generation larva has been brought in tablet form, said Lt. Col. Md. Sarwar, deputy chief health officer of the DNCC.

Meanwhile, doctors are advising to use mosquito nets during day and night. Mostafa Kamal,Assistant Professor,Department of Medicine,Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College and Hospital said, to pull the mosquito net both in the daytime and at night.
