Chhatra League Leader's Hanging Body Recovered

District Representative: The police recovered the hanging body of a Chhatra League leader named Sheikh Sumaiya Sumu (20) in Shariatpur district's Naria.

The body was recovered from his house in Baisakhipara area of ​​Ward No. 2 of Naria Municipality on Thursday (February 8) morning.

The deceased Sheikh Sumaiya Sumu was the daughter of Abu Bakar Sheikh, joint general secretary of Naria Government College Chhatra League and ward number two of Naria municipality.

According to police and local sources, it was Sumaiya's birthday on Wednesday. After celebrating her birthday with her friends, she returned home at night and slept in her room with the door closed. Sumaiya's phone started receiving multiple calls from midnight. Sumaiya's other family members wake up to the sound of the ringtone. They called out from outside the door, but there was no response from inside.

At one point they broke the door and entered the room and found Sumaiya's body hanging with the fan wrapped around the curtain. After reporting to the police station, the police came to the spot and recovered the body.

Local councilor Abu Zafar Sheikh said, Sumaiya is my niece. After receiving a call from their house, I went to the spot and broke the door of the room locked from outside. I saw Sumaiya hanging. He can also commit suicide due to love.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Naria police station, Mostafizur Rahman, said that the body was recovered from the spot and sent for post-mortem. If the family issues any complaint, this matter will be looked into.
