Staff Correspondent: In the installation issue of Bangabandhu's statue and sculpture, BNP has hand in it said the Awami League general secretary minister, Obaidul Quader.

He made the remarks after paying tributes with flowers at the Mirpur Shaheed Buddhijibi Memorial on Monday (December 14) on the occasion of Shaheed Buddhijibi Day.

Regarding the reason for BNP's silence on the issue of sculpture of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Obaidul Quader said, "The reason for BNP's silence is clear. They are helping from behind. They are the patrons of this communal evil, the patrons of militancy."

"Even after so many years of independence, that communal evil is still conspiring. On the day of martyred intellectuals, we will swear that under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina, we will eradicate the poisonous tree that is still spreading its stalks," he said.
