International Desk: Myanmar's ousted leader Aung San Suu Kyi has been sentenced to three years in prison for electoral fraud.

The court of the junta government gave the verdict On Friday.
Myanmar's pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi was ousted in a military coup in February last year. Since then he is in prison. Earlier, the military court of Myanmar sentenced him to 17 years in prison for several other charges including treason, corruption. However, he denied these allegations.

The source, who declined to be identified because they were not authorised to speak to media, said it was unclear what hard labour would entail. Co-defendant Win Myint, the deposed president, was given the same sentence, the source said.
Nobel laureate Suu Kyi was arrested in February 2021 when the military overthrew her elected government. At least 20 cases of criminal offenses have been registered against her. Suu Kyi, 77, could be sentenced to more than 150 years in prison if she convicted in those cases.
