Staff Reporter: Bangabandhu's ideology can never be erased by breaking the sculpture, said the Minister of Agriculture, Md. Abdur Razzak. The Agriculture Minister urged to be vigilant against bigots and religious businessmen.
He made the remarks at a discussion organized by the Ministry of Agriculture on the occasion of Victory Day at the Agricultural Research Council auditorium at Farmgate in the capital on Monday (December 28).
Recalling the horrific days of the war of liberation, the Agriculture Minister said, "People of all religions including Muslims, Hindus and Christians of this country jumped into the war of liberation despising life by responding to Bangabandhu's call." But in this independent Bangladesh, fanatics and religious businessmen torture and kill people in the name of religion. Everyone must be aware and united to eradicate these fanatics.
He said the country's economy is stable and strong despite the strong leadership and foresight of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, daughter of Bangabandhu. Bangladesh is one of the few countries that will have positive economic growth.
Dr. Abdur Razzak said that some people want to create instability in the country on various pretexts. Wants to hinder the development progress of the country.
Agriculture Secretary, Mesbahul Islam presided over the ceremony. Former Senior Secretary of the Prime Minister's Office and Chairman of Biman Bangladesh Airlines Sajjadul Hasan were present as the special guest. Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture (Extension) Hasanuzzaman Kallol gave a welcome speech.
