Three people have been killed in a winter tornado in North Carolina. At least 10 people were injured. More than 2 million businesses and homes in Texas were without electricity. Four members of the same family were killed in a house fire in Houston to keep warm.
At least 13 children have been hospitalized in several states, including Mississippi and Kentucky, for carbon monoxide poisoning using diesel to keep homes warm due to failure of electricity. Texas has applied to federal authorities to provide generators to supply electricity to hospitals.
The supply of corona vaccines is being disrupted as roads are closed due to freezing snow. More than 2,700 flights were canceled on Tuesday.
