International Desk: Heavy torential rains triggered a landslide in Indonesia's East Java. It killed at least 2 and 14 injured. Another 16 people are still missing in the disaster.
On Monday (February 15th), the Emergency Management Unit of the Naganzuk Social Affairs Agency said rescue workers had recovered two bodies in Naganzuk district. They also rescued two people alive in the district.
The news agency Antara quoted Aris Trio Effendi, coordinator of the unit, as saying on Monday, "Heavy rescue equipments have been sent to the disaster area to unearth more victims."
The mud rolled from the surrounding hills burried the victims under tons of mud. The disaster left 14 injured and 16 people missing.
Effendi said many homes in many residential areas are at risk of landslides. The landslide has already damaged at least 13 houses.
He added that 160 people had been evacuated due to extreme risk.
