A Democratic Bangladesh Since November 7: Fakhrul

Staff Correspondent: Bangladesh became independent for the second time through the coup d'etat of the sepoy people on November 7. Ziaur Rahman was placed under house arrest on November 3 for national and international reasons. By thwarting that conspiracy, the patriotic sepoys and the people of this country liberated Zia on November 7 and consolidated true independence in the country.

He made the remarks after paying homage at the grave of former President Ziaur Rahman in the capital's Sher-e-Bangla Nagar on Saturday (November 7th) morning. He said that in fact the opportunity to establish a democratic Bangladesh, multi-party democracy and people's rule was created in the country from November 7 and it was led by Shaheed Ziaur Rahman.

Mirza Fakhrul said, this day is very important in the context of present day Bangladesh. The one-party system of government established in the country before 1975 deprived the people of their rights; In exactly the same way, the Awami League has come to power by depriving the people of Bangladesh of their rights and destroying democracy.

Members of the Standing Committee headed by Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Moudud Ahmed, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Nazrul Islam Khan, Selima Rahman and Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury laid wreaths at the grave of the party's founder at 11am.
