Staff Reporter: The Bomb Disposal Unit of the Air Force has recovered a 250 kg cylinder-like 'bomb' from the third terminal under construction at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital.
During construction work at Construction-5 on Wednesday (December 9) morning, construction workers found a cylinder-like 'bomb'.
According to airport sources, the bomb disposal unit of the air force rushed to the spot after the construction workers and engineers informed the concerned authorities. Later they took it to Rasulpur base of the air force to deactivate it. The air force defused the 250 kg bomb-like object there.
Group Captain AHM Touhid-ul-Ahsan, director of Shahjalal International Airport, said a 250-kg cylinder-like bomb was found during construction work at Construction-5 of the airport's third terminal. Later, the Bomb Disposal Unit of the Air Force rescued it and took it to the Rasulpur base for deactivation.
