3 killed in truck-pickup clash

Sun News Desk : Three people have been killed in a collision between a pickup van and a truck at Tarakanda in Mymensingh on Tuesday.

Among the deceased, Kamrul Hasan was identified as the pickup van driver while details about two others, the passengers of the van, could not be known yet.

Police said a potato-laden truck was heading towards to Phulpur while a sugar-laden pickup van was going towards Mymensingh in the morning. On the way, when the both vehicles reached near Tarakanda Upazila Health Complex, the collided head-on with each other, leaving the pickup van driver dead on the spot and two other passengers critically injured.

Jahangir Alam, on-duty sub inspector of the hospital, said the injured were declared as dead by the physicians when they were being taken to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.

Wajed Ali, Tarakanda Police Station officer-in-charge, said that legal action is underway in this regard.
