Sun News Desk: Two people have been killed and 3 others injured after a speedy pick-up van ran them over at Jatrabari in the capital on Friday.

The deceased were identified as Akbar Hossain, 40, a driver of CNG-run auto rickshaw, and Hasan, 30.
Mofizul Alam, officer-In-Charge (OC) of Jatrabari Police Station, said the accident occurred under the footover bridge in Rayerbag area of Jatrabari in the capital around 6.30am on Friday.

The pedestrians were standing beside the road when suddenly a speedy pick-up ran them over from behind, leaving Akbar dead on the spot and four others, including two police personnel injured.
The injured rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where Hasan succumbed to his injuries.

He also said police detained the driver and helper of the van. The bodies have been kept at the DMCH morgue.
