Sun News Desk : At least 15 dengue patients died and 1,876 were hospitalized in the last 24 hours across the country.

The Directorate General of Health Services said this in a press release on Friday.

Of the new cases, 842 were reported in Dhaka city and 1,034 were from various parts of the country.

A total of 9,730 dengue patients are undergoing treatment at different hospitals. Of them, 4,265 are in Dhaka while 5,465 are outside of the capital city, it added.

According to the DGHS statement, among the total dengue-positive cases, 49,495 are female and 80,807 are male. Of the total deaths, 369 are female and 265 male.

The country recorded 281 dengue deaths in 2022 following 179 casualties in 2019.

Additionally, the DGHS recorded 62,423 dengue cases and 61,971 recoveries last year.
