Sun News Desk : Ten dengue patients died and 2,584 were hospitalized in the last 24 hours across the country.

The Directorate General of Health Services said this in a press release on Tuesday.

With the latest death, a total of 261 people died of dengue to date this year.

Currently, 9,264 people diagnosed with the mosquito-borne disease are taking treatment at different government and private hospitals in and outside the capital of Dhaka.

Of them, 4,869 are being treated at the facilities in the capital while 4,395 are in other divisions.

As many as 54,416 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country since January 1 this year.

Some 44,891 out of the hospitalized patients, however, recovered during the period.
