Train collision kills 32 in Egypt

International Desk: At least 32 people killed and more than 60 others injured after two trains collide in Egypt.

The accidenttook place in north of the country's Sohag city on Friday. The death toll in the accident is expected to rise further.

Egypt's health ministry has confirmed the deaths of 32 people. The injured were rescued and admitted to the hospital.

A photo spread on Twitter showed locals rushing to rescue passengers trapped in two crashed trains. The front part of the two trains was twisted in the accident. The injured were rescued and taken to hospital. It is also feared that there may be more bodies inside the train. Rescue operations are underway.

The railway authority said emergency brakes in the first train were triggered by "unknown individuals", causing the train to stop, while the second train crashed into the first from behind, causing two carriages to come off the tracks.The collision caused three passenger cars to flip over and wagons with passengers trapped inside and surrounded by debris.
