International Desk: Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that India must come first for peace. Along the way, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi also gave a message to improve relations.
After the surgical strike in Uri, the blast in Pulwama, the air strike in Balakot, etc., Indo-Pak relations were at a standstill. Withdrawal of Article 370 from Kashmir has further dampened bilateral relations.
On Tuesday (March 23), Prime Minister Narendra Modi broke the ice and sent a warm congratulatory message to Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan. Monday, March 22 was Pakistan's National Day. Modi has sent a letter to Imran on that occasion.
In it, he wrote, “I wish all the citizens of Pakistan a happy National Day. As a neighboring country, India is keen to maintain good relations with the citizens of Pakistan. However, it is important to create an environment of mutual trust by overcoming terrorism and hostility. ”
He also congratulated Pakistan on its efforts to tackle Corona. He said that India-Pakistan bilateral relations were essential to maintain regional peace and security in South Asia.
A separate message was also sent by President Ram Nath Kovind to his Pakistani counterpart Arif Alvi.
Though,government sources said it is a routine letter sent every year, there have been indications of positive movement in ties between India and Pakistan.
