ABM Hossain is the first Emeritus of the late RBI

Renowned archaeologist and Professor Emeritus of the Department of History and Culture of Islam at Rajshahi University. Abul Bashar Mosharraf (ABM) Hossain is no more (Innalillahi ... Rajyun). He died at a specialized hospital in the capital around 2pm on Friday (July 10). He was 6 years old at the time of his death. Professor Fazlul Haque, President of the Department of History and Culture of Islam, gave this information.

Professor Fazlul Haque said, MBM Hossain lived in Kalabagan of Dhaka. A few days ago, he fell in the bathroom and broke his spine. He has been undergoing treatment at a specialized hospital ever since. He will be buried at Mirpur Intellectual Cemetery after Janazah at Babar Mosque after Asr on Saturday (July 11). Besides, the department will hold his janaza in absentia at the central mosque premises of the university.

Incidentally, Professor AB M Hossain was born in 1934 at Devidwar in Comilla. He joined as a RU lecturer in 1970. He later held the posts of President of the Department, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and various other administrative posts. He was honored in 2001 as the first Professor Emeritus of RU.
