Staff Reporter: If we want to call off the transport strike, we have to accept the demands, said the leaders of the truck-covered van owners-workers council. Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal had a meeting with the Additional Secretary General of Malik-Sramik Parishad Abdul Motaleb. Abdul Motaleb, Additional Secretary-General of the Owners-Workers Council, made the announcement on Saturday (November 6th).

The Secretary-General said that the Home Minister will talk to Hon'ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and decide on the demand this evening or tomorrow Sunday. And if our demands are fully met, the ongoing strike will be called off.

He said the strike was discussed in detail at a meeting at the home minister's residence in Dhanmondi at noon. He then assured us that the logical demands would be discussed and accepted.
