Staff Reporter: Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader warned that the government will take strict action if anyone collects more fares from the passengers than the fixed fare. He made the remarks at a briefing on Monday (November 8) morning.
He said transport owners and workers should be careful not to charge more than the stipulated fare.
He added that the increased fare would not apply to gas octane and petrol vehicles.
Commenting that there is no dire situation in the country, Obaidul Quader said the government's stance against communal corruption and irregularities in the public interest is strict.
He also said that the government's stance against those who looted people's resources is strict.
