The Truck-Covered Van Strike Will Continue

Own Correspondent: Fuel price hike was going on strike in protest over the past two days. As a result, all types of traffic were stopped. The government has accepted the demand of bus and launch owners to increase fares considering the suffering of the people in such a strike.

Meanwhile, the Bangladesh Truck-Covered Van Owners-Workers Unity Council has said that the strike will continue as the government has not decided on the demands of truck and covered van owners. They demanded that the strike continue until oil prices fall. Council convener Rustam Ali confirmed the information on Sunday (November 7th).

"We will continue the strike until the price of fuel comes down as no one has spoken to us on behalf of the government," he said.

On the other hand, Abdul Motaleb, additional secretary-general of the Covered Van-Truck Primemover Goods Transport Owners Association, said the home minister had promised to hold talks with us. But we have not received any news yet.

"We are waiting for a proper solution," he said.
