Correspondent: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun said that no kind of extortion will be tolerated in any sector including transportation of goods. Strict action will be taken against extortion.

On Tuesday (March 12) morning at the police headquarters, this was announced in a meeting regarding overall law and order, security and traffic management on the occasion of holy Ramadan and upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr.
He said that everyone should be careful so that no one can create any issue in front of Ramadan and Eid and cause the deterioration of law and order.
The IGP also said that the officials should be vigilant to ensure that no vested interests spread rumors and misinformation in the cyber world so that communal harmony is not destroyed or untoward incidents occur.

The Inspector General said that in addition to performing regular duties during Ramadan, one should be especially careful and vigilant during Iftar, Tarabi and Sehri.
At that time, all additional IGPs, heads of various units of Dhaka Police and concerned police officers were present in the meeting. Besides RAB, ATU, PBI, Highway Police, Industrial Police, Chief of Naval Police, Commissioner of Metropolitan Police, Range DIG, DIG (FDMN), Superintendents of Police of all districts and field level commanders of specialized units of Naval, Highways, Railways, Tourist and Industrial Police are virtual. He was attached to the meeting.

In this meeting, instructions were given to the police officers to ensure flawless security of the programs organized on the occasion of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's 104th birth anniversary and National Children's Day on March 17, Genocide Day on March 25 and Independence and National Day on March 26.
